Week 3 Run

Today we ran 5 miles, and it felt great! So far I have been running by myself, but today I ran with 2 others on the Jumpstart team. I didn't think I would enjoy running with others, but it was really great and made the time pass much faster. We set a good pace and kept to it. While we had a 10:45 mile pace, the time is decreasing each run. My goal is to qualify for the 2013 marathon which would mean running this marathon in 3:40:00 - which means running a pace of 8:23:05 mile. Our running coach Rick, who is awesome, suggests anytime you set a goal you will usually achieve 10% above or below that goal. With that in mind, my goal will be to run 8:15 minute miles. We have 15 weeks left to train - this is very exciting!
